Some fall decor whispers, and some of it throws a party. Plaza de los Muertos is the party: a glowing Día de los Muertos alley that lives between your books, where a skeleton guitarist serenades a marigold-lined street under strings of papel picado. Flip the switch at dusk and the whole plaza comes to life on your shelf.

This is one of CuteBee's more ornate builds, which is exactly why it photographs so well and exactly why we rate it Steady Hands rather than beginner fare. The layered paper details want tweezers and good light, and the papel picado banners are the fiddliest step of the build. If you have one kit behind you, you'll settle into it comfortably over two or three evenings. A determined first-timer can absolutely manage it too; just give yourself patience instead of a deadline.

The box includes the pre-cut pieces and LED lighting listed by the maker, and you'll want your own AA batteries. We're building our own copy right now and will update this page with the exact piece count and our full build notes, because that's the kind of thing we'd want to know before buying.

One honest note on timing: this kit ships directly from the maker's studio, so allow 7 to 14 days for delivery. Order by mid-October and it will be glowing on your shelf well before Día de los Muertos, with the whole season still ahead of it. Fair warning from experience with kits like this one: it goes up in September and somehow never quite gets put away.
